Becca Janiak, DSL
CHIEF LEARNING OFFICER
Dr. Becca Janiak has served at the grassroots level of government as an elementary school teacher, all way to the Executive Branch at the White House, with other agencies and branches in between. What she enjoys most is helping people grow, succeed, and develop their skills, abilities, and talents. From teaching school-aged children to working with global colleagues to equip leaders in Africa, her goal is to help others know, understand, and embolden their own potential. She holds a Masters of Public Administration and a Doctorate of Strategic Leadership.

Christa L. Remington, PhD
RESEARCH DIRECTOR
Christa L. Remington, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the School of Public Affairs at the University of South Florida. Her research focuses on the interaction between nonprofit organizations, NGOs, grassroots groups, and emergency response agencies. Through her interdisciplinary research, she aims to improve the effectiveness of post-disaster response and recovery work and reduce the negative impacts of the job on those responding. Her research has been published in journals such as Public Administration Review, Natural Hazards, and the International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction. She has been funded by organizations such as the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering & Medicine's Gulf Research Program and the Natural Hazards Center.

Charity Remington, DSL
DIRECTOR OF LEARDERSHIP STUDIES
Charity Remington, DSL, is the Director of Leadership Studies at the Center for Leadership Research and Action. Her work examines how collaboration, communication, and trust shape organizational performance, with a focus on turning research into practical tools for leaders. With more than 20 years of experience as a nonprofit executive and organizational consultant, she has supported community organizations through growth, change, and strategic planning. She holds a Doctorate in Strategic Leadership, and her scholarship centers on adaptive leadership, organizational learning, and building resilient, high-performing teams.
